Email scam alert!

Please remember-

If you get an email that asks for your passwords, bank account information, or any other personal information...

DON'T DO IT!

This is a scam called "phishing". No big company - Hotmail, Yahoo, eBay, your bank, Microsoft, Facebook, or any other - will ask you for private information, like your password, in an email.

Also, if you get an email from a friend asking you to send money for an emergency, make sure you talk to your friend before you send it. When scammers get someone's email password, they send messages to all of that person's friends asking for money. Some people have lost thousands of dollars from scams like this.

Today, a learner at Action Read got an email like the one above. (Click on the white text above to read it.) She did not send the information.

If you're not sure if an email is real or a scam, ask staff for help!
